161.4 - Need movie ideas
Official weigh-day today, and I showed at 161.4. In other words, no progress. I do need recommendations for films to watch while I treadmill - I usually get about 40 minutes watched per day. Preferable films I can get for cheap at Family Video - so not too new release and not too old cuz those are hard to find at the video store. Please comment with movie recommendations.

I have a few movie ideas for you… some of them are recent-ish, but by no means new releases.
1. Finding Neverland - With Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. Set in London, the true story of the writing of Peter Pan story. Very lush and well written. Kate winslet is fabulous.
2. Stranger than Fiction - A pseudo serious role for Will Ferrell, this is a GREAT story about a guy who discovers he isn’t just a person… he’s a character in a novel. Hilarious supporting role by Dustin Hoffman.
3. Garden State - Zach Braff and Natalie Portman… a love story, really lovely and quirky with GREAT music. Directed by Zach Braff as well. One of my favorites.
4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - OOOOH SO GOOD! Kate Winslet again and Jim Carrey. Not a comedy, but a love story about a devasting love affair and a company that has the technology to erase people’s painful memories. Jim Carrey is REALLY good in this. I forget it’s him.
5. Sideways - A she-she buddy movie about two guys who go on a road trip into wine country. Hilarious … starring Paul Giamatti who is one of my favorite actors of all time right now.
6. You Can Count on Me - Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo in a family drama… Laura Linney is one of the best around as well… they are brother and sister having a tough time. It’s what I’d call a “small” movie… all about the fantastic performances. I saw it like five years ago and I can’t let it go. Matthew Broderick has a great supporting role.
7. Election - Speaking of Matthew Broderick… this is an AWESOME movie. I love it. Just get it and watch it.
8. Bill Murray… should I launch into my favorites? OK here goes.
a) Rushmore - love it
b) The Royal Tenenbaums - with the Wilson Brothers, Gene Hackman, Angelica Huston, Ben Stiller… if you don’t like Rushmore, you might not like this. Weird and wonderful family comedy.
C) Lost in Translation - lovely lovely lovely… lovely lovely lovely… Not for unsubtle. Mike hated it. One of my favorite films of all time.
D) Don’t rent Broken FLowers - terribl knock off of L in T.
E) Stripes. Still hilarious. See it again.
F) The much controversial - “Life Aquatic” … I really like this oddball film and so did Colin. It isn’t a normal movie. Since yoiu like Napolean Dynamite… you’ll probably get it.
9. L.A. Story- a quirky love story with SO MANY tiny bits of intellectual humor you have to pay attention. It’s a knock off of lots of good Shakespeare. Favorite lines: “I’m hot from running now!” and “Finally. A funny gravedigger.” Steve Martin at his best.
10. The Shipping News - Kevin Spacey and others in a bleak story. I loved the book better, but this is a good adaptation.
